But the magic guy did it

We have been watching this show called,"Magic's Biggest Secrets Revealed" and Sterling was watching it with us the other day. On this episode it showed how the magician bent a spoon using his "mind". Well, in the trick he uses an already bent spoon and the cut-off end of a straight spoon. He holds both the bent and straight parts in his fingers, hiding the bent part in his hand. He gradually drops the straight end as the bent part comes into play, hiding the straight part in his hand...therefore looking like he bent the spoon with his mind. (this is so confusing to tell)

Anyway, so the next morning I look over at Sterling while he is eating his yogurt wondering why he is making such a mess...his spoon looks like this...

"But the magic guy did it like this, so I did magic!!"

Portulacas

Grams...this one is for you!
Sterling wanted to tell you something...
Thank you Grams for sending me money so I could go buy my very own Portulaca's! I love to say that name! We had a little trouble finding them at first though. Mommy and Daddy took me to a bunch of different places and let me ask the people all by myself if they had any. Good thing you sent me that tag of what they look like because mom and dad didn't have a clue! They say I was really cute when I was asking because the workers made me follow them while we went to look but mom and dad walked way behind, I guess to watch me! We finally found some at a little road side flower place. Good thing we got there when we did because they only had one more left of the ones that bloom all different colors. Mom let me pay all by myself and I felt like a big boy! When we came home I got to plant them all by myself! (with a little help from mom) I was really gentle with them so I didn't break them. Mom took some pictures of me planting them so you could see. I love to go check them everyday to see how big they are getting and what color blooms are on them. Thanks again Grams! I love you!!

Way before the rain

This is too funny! Believe it or not, this video is from the week of Easter! We just thought we were going to be able to actually plant the vegetables after this but it's rained ever since and we STILL don't have our garden planted. At this rate we won't have any produce until the fall!

1.5 inches

So yet again I have been absent from the blogging world! I am so behind it's not even funny...kind of overwhelming actually. But I am going to try and get caught up tonight!
New news, we had an ultrasound yesterday!!! YAY!
I totally forgot to get the heartbeat (dumb me) but everything looked great except the baby kept it's head ducked in the entire time so we couldn't get a profile picture or even see the face. So looks like we've already got a stubborn one on our hands here! (let's hope not though!) It was moving around in little jerky motions (which is totally normal right now), totally involuntary movements of course. Couldn't tell the sex yet, but this week it's forming it's "parts" for whatever it's going to be!! The baby measured 1.5 inches which is right on and my due date still remains December 3rd. (although we *a.k.a. my doctor* said I won't go to that day)

Sterling went in the room with us and he was too cute. We had been building him up to "see the baby" all week so he was more than excited when we went in. When he saw it he was kind of dumbfounded at first and then just started talkin' away. He said,"the baby looks like a jelly bean!!" He got excited when it started moving too. Then he would keep telling them,"I'm gonna be a big brother." ~just so matter-of-fact, like they didn't know already! ha
