First day in the 4 yr old class!!

Yesterday was the first day back to school for Sterling! He was so excited that he gets to be in the "big kid 4 year old class"this year. I thought, just maybe, he would be a little apprehensive about me leaving and not working there this year.

Not at all.

He just walked right in and started playing with his friends. It's probably cause his best friend is in there with him.

That's what I'm telling myself anyway!

This was the first year that I have not worked at the same place he goes, so I didn't quite know what to do with myself yesterday. But no worries, I filled my 4 hours full of errands and kept quite busy! It was actually really nice to have time to myself which never happens during the day!

Today, however, Sterling had a date with the Dermatologist, right in the middle of school so no me time today. He has a hair follicle infection that has made little red bumps show up all over his torso, back, arms, and legs. So $70, 1 antibiotic, and 1 foam bath that we have to do twice a day, we should be good to go.

So as always, pictures of the big day...
First, a little bit of nostalgia for me...
First day of school in the 2 yr old class...
First day in the 3 yr old class... (this picture cracks me up!)
First day of 4 yr. old class...
He has changed so much in the two years he's been there! It makes me sad to think that he is growing up so fast, but happy in another sense because I have another sweet precious baby on the way!
Totally ready to go on his own and didn't even act like I existed. (Of course, he is in the same room for Sunday school class since it is our church as well!) Such a big boy!
Sterling and Mrs. Darla...love her! We are friends outside of church, plus she is Sterling's best buddy's aunt, so he already knows her which makes it really easy for him. I'm really glad I decided to keep him at this school this year because with the changes that are about to take place in our house this fall, he needs some consistancy to his life! playing with his friends, not even giving me the time of day! For your entertainment, 27 weeks:

Oh blogger...

Oh blogger why do you have so many issues!?!
You're not letting me upload pictures...why!?!?!

Get Better Soon Mawmaw

Every time someone doesn't feel very good, or is hurting, or whatever, Sterling always feels it necessary to make them a card. In his sweet little mind, this just means an instant "feel better".
So, Mawmaw (Heath's grandmother) had hip replacement surgery a little over two weeks ago. Sterling just had to make her a card to "feel better" and I thought it was too sweet and had to document!
He wrote this entirely by himself with me just helping with what letters to write and where to put them! Front of the card...
On the inside you will find Mawmaw and Pawpaw...mawmaw (on the left) has curly hair that goes all the way around her head and that is a hat on Pawpaw's head! He also thinks EVERY card needs stickers...doesn't matter what kind, just stickers! :)
The back of the card complete with the signature! We love you Mawmaw and hope you feel better quick!

Our baby's name!!

I just realized something... I don't think I have announced our precious little addition's name yet to all my blogging friends!!! Well, the time has come!
Drum roll please......
Judson Wayne
We weren't really sure at first but now we are almost positive that will be his name. Wayne will be the middle name for sure because that was my grandfather's name so we wanted to use it somewhere.
The only apprehension that we had about it was the fact that people will probably call him Judd and I really want people to call him just, Judson. I realize that as he gets older he will probably inherit that nick name (which Judd Brown sounds like a football players name to me, which is fine with us!) but for now, in the beginning, I really want it to be Judson.
Sooo....
I had my appointment yesterday and all seems good. Except for the fact that I gained 6 pounds!!! Seriously...6 pounds!?!?! I was freaking out in my mind but then I started thinking, you know what, this is the only time I can do this so I might as well enjoy it! haha So I've gained a total of 10 lbs so far, which is actually doing better than I did with Sterling at this point!
I have started swelling already but the Dr. told me that it's totally fine. No worries! (which I say, at least 1 of those 6 lbs I gained goes to excess water weight!!) I also had my glucose screening and he told me no news was good news, so I'm guessing everything is fine because I didn't hear anything today! My stomach actually measured a week ahead (measured in at 27, should have been 26) so I still think we are going to have another chunk on our hands!
Also on the baby front, Judson's bedding and picture things came in today!! YAY!!!!! Here is the picture but I only got the bedding set and the monkey pictures on the wall.
I'm having trouble deciding what color the walls should be...
any suggestions!?!

HELP...I need your advise!!

Ok I am in desperate need of everyone's opinions!!
Since our car seat that we used for Sterling was recalled a few years ago, we are left without one.
Nice.
Also, the stroller it came with is broken as well. So we are in need of a car seat and stroller.

Double nice. So my question to all of you is, what car seat/stroller combo do you like best and where did you get it? Of course my number one concern is safety but I also want affordable and good quality.

Also, (and you thought I was done :)) what diaper bag have you found that you just love and would recommend to everyone!?! I need something that is economical but cute!

Do you recommend a one strap, two strap backpack style, or one strap across the shoulder? So many choices! :)

I can't wait to see what you all recommend! Thanks so much in advance for your help!!

Baby Bree!!

Well I'm a day late (go figure!), but the newest addition to our ever-growing Brown family, Bree Leighton arrived yesterday!!! She weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 18 in long. She has black hair and ALOT of it!! She is so precious and words do not even describe how pretty she is! Rachel is doing good and gets to go home tomorrow! Congratulations you guys! :)
It won't be long (about 11 weeks to be exact) and we will all be doing this again and Bree will have a brand new cousin that she can play with. I'm so excited that they are only going to be 3 months apart!
Claire's reaction to seeing her for the first time! Big brother Owen getting so see her for the first time!
Ok and my 25 week picture...my stomach already feels like it can't stretch anymore! I'm going to be in trouble cause I have a little over 11 more weeks to go!

Sunday fun

Sunday was a fun-filled day! It started with Bible class at church...it was promotion Sunday! That means that the 2 yr olds going to the 3's, get a Bible, the 4 yr olds get a certificate, and the K's going to 1st get a big kid Bible. So everyone meets in the big auditorium and they are called up one by one to receive their special thing. So, of course, some pictures to document the big morning! Last year Sterling got a Bible, but this year it was a certificate. Go look at the link from last year and see how much he has changed in a year...he's losing all his baby fat and growing into a big boy (sniff sniff)!!
being a little toot!
Still waiting for his name to be called... Sterling Brown...
This was too funny because he was just strutting his stuff all the way down and the people that could see him were just snickering saying he was struttin it! He was proud of himself!
Most of the 4 year old's...I kind of feel sorry for their teachers!
Here is the K-12th grade that was there that morning...our church loves kids!
Then it was back to being a little toot again. We couldn't get him to smile for anything. Grrr 3-4 year olds can be very challenging at times!! Then in the evening we had the Back-to-School Skate party. Here is last years post about it
Can you believe how much he has changed! Look at his accomplishments this year....
He didn't even make it half way around when he let go of his Daddy's hand and took off!! We were so proud!
There is a picture of me from last year on that link...big difference a year makes huh! I love to skate, so it was killing me not being able to be out there!
a little side belly shot for you all... getting the hang of it
He was LOVING it!!
Goofball!
Sterling and his "best friend Elijah". Whenever Elijah's name comes out of his mouth it is always prefaced by "my best friend"...so cute!
Wonder if this is a sign of the future!?! LOL! His little friend Lauren...
Then he played limbo and was really good...considering!
Sterling with his cousins Caiden and Clayton... What a fun day! Perfect way to start the new week.
Oh and I said this week was going to be boring compared to last week... yeah, not so much! Our newest addition to the Brown family will be here on Friday!!! We can't wait to meet you little miss Bree!
