"Alvin and the Chipmunks"

Tuesdays are dollar movie day at the theater here. We have never ventured to take Sterling because we didn't think he would sit still long enough.

We were wrong!

Sterling and I (along with some other people from church) went to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks" on Tuesday. I was pleasantly surprised when he sat still during the whole movie...until the very end. He got on my lap and kept saying he wanted to go play games!

Popcorn had a lot to do with him sitting still, even though he dumped most of it on the floor cause he wasn't paying attention!

Here are a few pics...

(oh, he had to sit on the edge because, SURPRISINGLY, all 41.5 lbs. of him wasn't enough to keep the seat down. So he would start crying because he though he was going to fall through! It was quite funny! He eventually learned how to sit to where it didn't do that.)

July 4th 2008

We had a very relaxing 4th this year.

We stayed home and just enjoyed doing our own fireworks and watching the ones around our neighborhood. We really didn't even have to go anywhere this year because when you stood on our street, you didn't know where to look because there were so many going off everywhere.

The cul-d-sac next to ours spent $600 on fireworks.

YES, that is ridiculous, but it sure was fun to watch!

Some of our neighbors had a little get-to-gether and we went for a while. Sterling made a new little friend who is exactly 1 month (to the day) older than him. They played soccer for a while and then didn't really have much to do with each other after that!

Here is the difference between my camera and a really nice professional camera!!! Can you tell which is which!?! :)

(Sterling is such a goof ball!)

Emily and me

In aww of the first few fireworks!

Sparkler fun!

Heath let Sterling help him this year...don't worry Heath is very cautious and so is Sterling.
RUN!!!!

I just had to put this on here because this is a VERY RARE OCCURANCE!!!! Sterling never, and I repeat never, falls asleep in the middle of any action. He had such a big day that he just passed out in his momma's arms...LOVE IT!!!

Ok, here is a picture from last year on July 4th...glad we're rid of that passy! Now we just need to work on the blanket...at least he only gets it when he sleeps!

let's get caught up

I think the month of June came and went in about a week, at least in the Brown house it did! I really don't know where it went! We have been so busy around here...that's the excuse to why I haven't updated in forever. Since everyone just wants to see pictures anyway, I'll update with pictures...a bunch of them! So here we go...

We have a house guest! My neighbor and friend, Emily, is currently living with us. She has been here for a month. I am having sooo much fun having a really good friend live with me! She has been my neighbor for about two years. She is going through a divorce and has no family here...we are her family!! :)

Sterling's first gigantic sucker! Good thing he was already getting a bath after this!

NO , we did not get a puppy! Emily's dogs had puppies (Basset Hound/Chocolate Lab) and Sterling loved playing with one.

***FREE PUPPIES!!! THEY ARE SO SWEET AND READY FOR A GOOD HOME. Email (hlsbrown@cox.net) or call me if you're interested!!***

Last week was our VBS at church. We didn't teach this year, but were guides for the kids. Guess what age we got?? Yeah, 3 year old overflow (which there were 10 of them)! Sterling was not supposed to be able to go this year because he won't be 3 until September, but since we were guides for the class he should be in, we went ahead and let him go with us. He did SO good and LOVED it!!! Plus, most of his friends were in his class anyway.

Here are a few pics from VBS....

Sterling, Clayton (cousin), and his little friend Charlie

Sterling and Claire (cousin)

Our 3 year olds...handy little system!

But, I don't think they know what a line is yet though!

Sterling getting his "talents". He loves to participate!

This shot cracks me up because he fell as I was taking the picture and his ice cream just dumped out all over the ground.

NOT liking the slide! He stood up at the top for like 3 min until we finally got one of the older girls to get him down. She had to physically drag him down with her! It was pretty funny!

Sterling and his buddy Tucker!

Sterling LOVED Booster Rooster! He kept going up to him. One time Booster just scooped him up and held him and Sterling was just beaming from ear to ear because he thought that was so cool! He now sings the Booster song and always asks where he is.

We had a good time, especially watching Sterling enjoy it so much. I stayed busy watching some kids of the parents who set up rooms the week before.

Ok, here is Sterling's new thing...

He has decided that sleeping on the bed is very over rated!

He has been sleeping on the floor off and on this summer. It's so funny. A lot of nights Heath will go put him to bed and Sterling wants to sleep on the floor. We then quietly and ever-so-carefully put him back in bed when he falls asleep.

This is how we found him last night....

He is sleeping with socks on because his little toes are so dry that they are cracking and bleeding. So we glob vaseline on at night with some socks...seems to help.

Today I am watching my little neighbor girl that Sterling just adores. They were watching an Elmo movie here. We played in the sprinkler.

Yes. I said WE.

I gotta get tan somehow! :)

Father's Day 2008

Well, I must say it's been about forever since I have updated this! It has been crazy around here!
So, since I did a Mother's Day post, I really need to do a Father's Day one as well.

Father's Day came and went quick here...can't believe it's already been 2 weeks! So, I'm not going to get all mushy mushy but I will brag on Heath a bit, since it was his day and all. :)

Sterling and I are so incredibly blessed to have Heath in our lives. He means the world to me and I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to have him. He knew what he was doing when he made Heath for me and has blessed me beyond belief with him! :)

Heath is the best Daddy to Sterling. He is the most patient, loving, self-less, caring, understanding (may the list go on) man I have ever met...seriously. I love to watch the two of them play and wrestle and just love each other. That is a fairly new thing for me since I grew up not knowing my dad. I love seeing it and it brings joy to my heart knowing Sterling has the best daddy ever!

Sterling bringing Heath his gift. He got flip flops and two rounds of golf at his favorite place to go.

Waiting for the Father's Day lunch at Nana and Papa's. (aka: Heath's parents)

Sterling trying to hug Owen!

Caiden, Sterling, Claire and Clayton
the kids watching Mawmaw put on a "show". (they were putting on a show earlier and now it was her turn...don't you love how they lined their chairs up to watch!)

Sterling being goofy...with a huge bite of apple in his mouth...nice manors Sterling!

Um can we say...Heath and Shane?? :)

(it really was just a coincidence that we dressed them a like...crazy huh!)

Heath and Keith

Keith is one of the best father-in-laws anyone could ask for. If you wonder where Heath gets his personality from...that would be Keith. They are almost one in the same. They both have the patient, sweet, loving, caring, self-less qualities that I thank God for. Keith is an amazing example of how a Christian man should be. So Keith...thank you so much for your constant Christian example and all the love you show your family.

Heath, Chad, Keith, and Shane (Heath's brothers and Dad)

(me, Sterling and my Dad...this picture was taken a year and a half ago at Christmas)

Every Father's Day it is almost surreal for me but I feel so incredibly blessed at the same time. The reason I say that is because I didn't meet my dad until I was 18! So I have known my dad for almost 9 years now and every Father's Day I just thank God for having the chance to know my dad now. He is an incredible man. He is so sweet, caring, patient, self-less and may his list go on. It is just amazing to me that everything has turned out the way it has. Ever since the first day we met, he has been an active part of my life...how many people can say that who have been in my position!?! Not many. So to Dad...thank you for being you. For loving me like you have known me since the day I was born. God has truly blessed me with you. Wish we could have been together on your special day but one day we will spend Father's Day together for the first time... :)

To close out the day Heath and Sterling did their usual wrestling around and were boxing each other. Sterling has learned to "bob and weave" as he calls it. He enjoys being able to wrestle with his Daddy and knock him down. I love to just watch and laugh.

Happy Father's Day 2008!!
